Mac users should take note that with the release of MacOSX 10.7 (‘Lion’), versions older than 10.6 of the Macintosh OS are no longer supported at CERN.
Apple only releases Security updates for the current (10.7) and the previous (10.6) version of the MacOS operating system and therefore Mac users must make sure that they use one of these versions.
Users with older Macs that cannot run these versions should seriously consider replacing their computer with a more recent model.
In addition, please note that you are responsible for the security of your computer(s) and you must keep your machine up to date by:
- Making sure automatic checks for software updates are always enabled.
- Verifying that automatic checks run at least once per week.
