Description:
We will be upgrading the Oracle SL8500 tape library firmware in building 613 to a new major version (already tested for >1 month in b. 513) as well as installing some new tape drives.
During the intervention, CASTOR read requests to tapes in this library will be delayed; writing to CASTOR will not be affected as write requests will be transparently redirected to other libraries.
To check if a given file will potentially be affected you can use the commands:
- nsls -T /castor/cern.ch/.../filename to find out the tapename (3rd column)
- vmgrlistatape -V tapename to retrieve the library name (3rd column).
If the library name is 'SL8500_1' or 'SL8500_C', please note that your file might be affected by the intervention.
