Description:
In order to mitigate any issues caused by the recent widely-published Linux security exploit, the LXBATCH SLC6 capacity (about 75kHEPSPEC) will be drained and reinstalled.
The draining has already begun, so all LXBATCH SLC6 jobs will be queued until fresh capacity returns from the reinstall. The reinstall itself will begin tomorrow morning. Longer jobs still running on the nodes at this time will be lost.
It is expected that SLC6 batch capacity will begin to return in the afternoon.
The SLC5 batch capacity (80% of our resources) was not affected and will continue as normal. To submit your batch job to LXBATCH SLC5:
- login and bsub as normal from lxplus5.cern.ch, or
- bsub from lxplus.cern.ch using the resource string -R "(type==SLC5_64)"
Effective from date:
Tuesday, May 21, 2013 - 08:00
End date:
Thursday, May 23, 2013 - 12:00
