In an effort to further improve the Mac support services we have deployed OCSinventory Agent for MacOS: this is a light agent that gathers general information about the existing hardware and installed software useful to the support staff.

The generated report does not contain any information about user activities, files, processes and network scanning and is only accessible by the support staff. The collection of this information only takes a few seconds each day and puts very little load on the Mac. It is non intrusive and runs in the background in a transparent mode. The same tool is already deployed in CERN's Linux computers.

This package is available in the software repository of CERN for Mac computers, under the Utilities directory.
