Description:
We will be upgrading the Oracle SL8500 tape library firmware (in building 613) to a new major version.
During the intervention, CASTOR read requests to tapes in this library will be delayed; writing to CASTOR will not be affected as write requests will be transparently redirected to other libraries.
To check if a given file will potentially be affected you can use the commands:
- nsls -T /castor/cern.ch/.../filename to find out the tapename (3rd column)
- vmgrlistatape -V tapename to retrieve the library name (3rd column).
If the library name is 'SL8600_1' or 'SL8600_C', please note that your file might be affected by the intervention.
